Antique. 55" Rhinestone Rope Necklace. Wrapped Twice. Value $46 My Price $20 *Three Rhinestone silver settings were corroded so I cleaned the necklace (dipped for 30 seconds) to see if it was a coating and not corrosion of the metal itself. I used a brush and my fingernail and removed most of it. It is a coating, the metal does not appear to be affected. The resulting sparkle inspires me to clean all the rhinestone necklaces in Mom's collection. Some of the metal links between the rhinestones were a little twisted; I used a needle nose pliers to flatten them. The chain has a tendency to kink when you try to wrap it. I found that the best way to wrap it is one at a time, starting in the back (with the open clasp), smoothing the strands so that they face out. Value $46 My Price $20. Rosemarie Collections. Large Faceted Clear Pear Cut Crystal Statement Bib Necklace. After I cleaned it with Dawn dish soap. Some dark areas still remain. There are no markings. I thought the "crystals" were Quartz; they are "fancy" cut and really sparkle. I thought the chain, earring hooks and metal parts were Sterling Silver. Google search results showed two identical sets (different color crystals) from Rosemarie Collections. The "crystals" are probably cut glass. Mom still uses hairspray and sprays her cologne over her neck and chest; likely the reason for the damage to the chain. Since the necklace is inexpensive, I took the risk that it might result in uneven color, and dipped the chain in Silver Cleaner. Overall, in appearance, the dark areas are gone; for some reason the light box shows dark areas that don't appear in natural light. *Tackle Box.
