Antique. Coro. Brushed Gold Tone Choker. The textured clusters resemble flower heads. I found it on ebay listed at $48.00. In 1901, Emanuel Cohn and Carl Rosenberger established the accessories boutique Cohn and Rosenberger in New York City, which was later shortened to Coro. In 1929, Coro purchased a manufacturing facility in Providence, Rhode Island, which would later become the world's largest costume jewelry facility. The company went out of business in 1979. A piece has to be at least a hundred years old in order to be considered an antique. I don’t know the year it was manufactured or whether my great-grandmother, Linda Merkley, or my grandmother, Hester Sams, owned this. Chokers like this are my favorite necklace. I love this one. Vintage. Yellow Gold Tone Textured Chevron Choker. 16.5” Value $48 My Price $24. Has a pinecone dangle on the clasp. I Googled, what vintage jeweler used a pinecone trademark. In the results, I found a person who asked the same question and was told that Pennino Jewelers used a pinecone dangle. Long story short, adding Pennio to my search didn’t help. Adding pinecone, resulted in pinecone jewelry. I did not find a match. I found similar items with which to base a value price on. The Pennino's excelled during the cocktail style jewelry movement of the late 1930's into the 1940's. The glitz and glamor of that time was perfect for the "real" look that much of their jewelry exhibited. As with other well known costume jewelry designers of that time, their jewelry was used in Hollywood productions and worn by many leading ladies. I didn’t know about this movement. Mom often said, “Grama loved her rhinestones”. Finding several pieces of fancy antique or vintage rhinestone jewelry, I wondered where she wore it - she was a farmer’s wife. I will have to ask Mom, she lived with her grandma in the 1940’s. Update. Sept 1, 2023. Mom said Grama wore them to her women's club meetings. *Black Drawer Unit
