The sparkle is stunning. FYI, it was a tangled mess and I spent hours getting it straightened out. I would recommend storing it on a display like the Black Velvet one in the 3rd picture - I keep it in a curio cabinet. If you wanted to store it in a drawer, you could flatten it by folding down the prop and cover it with a plastic bag and add an anti-tarnish tab.

I love the color of brass and it can be very flattering to certain skin tones. However, it is very susceptible to chemical reactions. Early in the process of sorting through Mom's Jewelry Collection, I came across discolored brass chains and tried cleaning them in a jewelry cleaner for costume jewelry. The chains turned green and black. Luckily, they were not valuable or part of a set. Since then, I have used a polishing cloth. In some cases, I have used Dawn dish soap; which works well except in cases where the metal is corroded.

Care Guide supplied by a company for Coral Jewelry and Pearls. Cosmetics, perfume, hair spray and extreme heat are the most common causes of dulling and deterioration of these gems so avoid their contact as much as possible. As with pearls, wash your jewelry periodically in Ivory or other very mild soap suds: rinse well in clear water and pat dry.

Generally speaking, chemicals are bad for all jewelry. If you use hairspray do it before you put on your jewelry. You could dab perfume on your wrists and above where your necklace rests on your neck. Use lotions when you aren't wearing jewelry. When you remove your jewelry, wipe it off with a polishing cloth before you put it away.
